Our big September service project is, of course, our annual fundraiser: Dream Big for Moss Elementary!  on September 17th at the Millcreek City Hall. 

In addition, we will have a service project on September 3rd right after our regular business meeting ends at 6:30pm.  Those who can are invited to stay to put together classroom care kits for Moss Elementary.  Classroom kits include emergency clothing, hygiene supplies, and other necessaries to keep kids in the classroom and learning when some bodily function would keep them out. 

All supplies will be purchased through Utah Rotary Donor Advised Fund Grant, we just need hands to help put all the supplies together into kits that can be given to the school!

Our Summer BBQ is a tradition started many years ago by one of our awesome members, Frank!  Through the years, we have had the BBQ at various locations, with various activites, and various weather!  But rain or shine, it's one of our beloved traditions that we do yearly! 

This year, after a rain delay in August, this has been rescheduled for September 26th, at the Spruces Campground.  Updated timing to be determined and communicated soon!

Family and friends are welcome to join us for some great food, yard games, and socializing together! 

An Interact Club is a service and leadership organization for students ages 12 to 18, sponsored by local Rotary clubs. 

At our October 1st business meeting, we will hear from our Youth Chair and our 'sister' Interact Club from City Academy.  We look forward to hearing about the great work they are doing! 

We heard from Natalie Pulsipher, Volunteer Coordinator at Moss Elementary. Millcreek Rotary Foundation is proud to support Moss Elementary with our 2026 annual fundraiser. This Title 1 school serves approximately 450 kindergarten through 5th grade students. 64% qualify for free or reduced lunch. 11% are experiencing homelessness. 53% are English language learners. More than 30 languages are spoken at Moss! Many students come from immigrant and refugee families and are the first in their families to navigate the U.S. school system. Sadly, the needs are immense. This is a working-class community where parents do not often have the time or resources to volunteer their time and treasure. Additionally, state and federal allocations for education have been cut. Come learn about this incredible school and why we are supporting them via our Dream Big Fundraiser on September 17.

Moss Elementary Back to School night and Bike Rodeo! 

Our members were delighted to meet teachers, staff, and especially parents and kids from Moss Elementary. They helped with many fun events associated with this Back-to-School event, including the Bike Rodeo hosted by Salt Lake County Police Dept, which helped teach bike safety. Members were even more committed to help this Title 1 school - where 30+ languages are spoken - at our annual fundraiser Sept 17. "Thank goodness for Google Translate," commented one of the Millcreek Rotary volunteers!

We will hear from Wasatch Food Co-op (WFC), which just opened and is Salt Lake City’s only community-owned full-service grocery store, founded with the mission of providing affordable, local food while fostering a stronger, more resilient community. Thursday, July 16, we will hear from Evan Sugden, a Board member focusing on policy. He will explain what a food co-op is, why it matters, how it helps our community, and the benefits of becoming a member. It’s located in the Liberty Wells neighborhood and will connect shoppers to local produce and a full range of food.

Every year, in June or July, Rotary clubs all over the world 'pass the baton' to a new club president. The celebration of this transfer of responsibility is open to all club members and their guests. This year, Karen Hansen is gracious to welcome us to her home. 

Outgoing president Drew Allen will recap his Year, and incoming president Judy Zone will share her vision and goals for the next Rotary Year.  Don't miss this event!
